WHO IS CAX?

CAPITAL ASSET EXCHANGE, (CAX) is a computer and capital equipment recycling brokerage firm based in Connecticut, with satellite operations that allow us to provide nation wide service to our customers.

The mission at CAX's is twofold; first to be an environmentally conscious recycler of industry's surplus assets. Second, is to implement cost saving procedures for processing this material that both protect the customers’ interest and help their bottom line.

In today’s business environment of risk versus reward is it really prudent to not be certain your company’s surplus computer assets are being disposed of in an environmentally compliant manner? Disposing of electronic components into the normal waste stream may be a "gray area" but do you want to gamble with the environment and possibly jeopardize your organization’s financial future? As good corporate citizens we must take a proactive stance when it comes to the environment. After all our employees and customers must live in the environment that is directly affected by our corporate policy.

Electronic items like computers, monitors, and test equipment contain; lead, phosphorous, copper, plastic, glass, and iron (along with other trace metals). These materials are either restricted or banned for disposal through normal waste streams such as landfills. The average monitor when subjected to TCLP tests yields lead content of 40 PPM. The maximum lead content permissible under Federal 40 USC Section 260 / 261 is 5 PPM.

Companies cannot afford to treat computer recycling as business as usual.  Company procedures that were compliant at one time may no longer be in line with today’s EPA guidelines and can unknowingly lead to negative legal and public relation issues including "super-fund" cleanup penalties.

WHY UTILIZE THE SERVICES OF CAX?

Since our inception CAX has implemented and followed policies in accordance with ISO 14001 environmental standards including our own “Zero-Landfill” policy. Our service is continuously evolving to meet today’s needs including security issues related to the certified destruction of computer hard drives.

Utilizing the services of CAX enables your company to eliminate the potential liability that might arise from improper disposal. We utilize a process that separates the component materials from the items we process and recycle them in a manner that does not have a detrimental impact on the environment.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE OPPORTUNITY OF SERVICING YOUR REQUIREMENTS
